I am excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2020 TCS New York City Marathon! I have already begun to train for my race, and am inspired to undertake this rigorous challenge as I am doing it in support of an amazing organization - Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast and ovarian cancer at every stage—before, during, and after diagnosis.
It is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the support they have provided to close friends who were touched by breast cancer and ovarian cancer. This year I am running in memory of one particular friend Tsila Elhadad (עליה שלום), who despite her battle with breast cancer never lost her spark, and raised two amazing daughters who walk in their mothers footsteps and continue to change my life to this day.
Sharsheret was the only organization that provided the vital culturally-relevant support they were desperately seeking. As I continually hear about the wonderful resource Sharsheret is for many friends and thousands of others locally and nationally, I wonder how I could do more. How can I make a difference? By taking on this personal challenge and joining with the other members of Team Sharsheret I have found my answer. As a member of this incredible Team, I have pledged to raise funds (which I hope to greatly exceed!) in support of Sharsheret’s breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services. I am asking you to please support me in my athletic and fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge, ask for corporate matching for your gift too! All contributions are tax-deductible. Thank you, in advance, for your support!
