My Mom (aka the greatest mom ever), Michele Conard, was a five year breast cancer survivor. Today, March 26, would have been her 66th birthday, and unfortunately March 27 will mark the one year anniversary of her passing. Mom loved the beginning of spring more than just about anything, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her will tell you that she was famous on Facebook for her countdown to spring. So, instead of letting this be a sad time, I want to celebrate Mom's beautiful, selfless life by doing something good and helping fight breast cancer.
There are three fundraisers in total, each to benefit a smaller organization that directly helps breast cancer survivors. The third, the Sussex County Women’s Forum (http://friend2friendscwf.com/), "strives to provide early detection services, support and resources to the women of Sussex and surrounding counties. The organization is composed of women helping other women on a one-to-one basis to offer guidance and companionship on the journey of healing." This was another charity that was very special to my mom, and they helped her with medical expenses when she couldn't afford it.
If this or another fundraiser is already fully funded, please consider donating to one of the other two first:
This is the first annual event on Ian Curtis Is Hungry in honor of my mom, so we are starting small to begin with, but every donation will receive a link to a special Spotify playlist as a little sign of our appreciation.
Thank you so much!
