The San Fernando Valley Counseling Center (SFVCC) is a nonprofit mental health center that provides low-cost affordable mental health counseling on a sliding scale basis. SFVCC believes that the benefits of counseling to a person’s growth and development should be available to everyone regardless of their income or insurance status. Through the dedicated commitment of highly-trained and supervised trainees, interns, and volunteer counselors, we provide access to quality, affordable counseling for individuals, couples, children, and families struggling with a wide range of mental and behavioral health issues.
SFVCC is one of the only locations in San Fernando Valley providing training and supervision to students studying to become licensed therapists. In total, we’ve trained over 900 therapists since 1971. As a training ground, SFVCC is laying the foundation for professionals to serve their communities and providing much needed affordable mental health services to underserved communities in San Fernando Valley. Our approach counters the stigma associated with mental health by making it accessible and openly talking about mental health.
Sadly, we are faced with challenging times. With COVID-19, now more than ever, people are increasing need of mental health counseling.
We are one of the lowest cost mental health service providers in the San Fernando Valley, and we currently serve over 300 clients who need our support.
We need the support of our community to address the growing need for mental health counseling. You can be this support.
