I am running the San Francisco Marathon 52.4-mile Ultra in July 2018. I have run a lot of races but never for charity. I decided that since this is my first road ultra that it was time for a change. I am running the miles anyway and why not do something beneficial at the same time?
Bret Hyde was one of my running idols. An Air Force Academy graduate and Steeplechaser (see profile link below). He passed away in 2001 due to ALS. Many of my close friends have also lost family members and friends to this debilitating disease. For most, it is not necessarily the death from the disease that is the hardest part but living with the disease as it slowly takes your ability to do even the simplest of things like walk or run. Please donate so that we can help research and solve the horrible puzzle that is ALS.
