WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW SO WE CAN CONTINUE SEWING MASKS FOR OUR COMMUNITY IN NEED. This monumental task requires the help of many.
Let’s join forces and help minimize the spread of this illness while supporting our friends and neighbors on the front lines. So far we have distributed hundreds of masks MADE BY LOCAL MAKERS/SEWERS, but we need to make and distribute 1000s to help meet the immediate need.
We have been asked to sew fabric masks for local volunteers, nursing homes, testing centers, market employees, and nurses and staff at local hospitals. WE NEED TO CONTINUE TO GET THEM OUT EVERY DAY! Your funds are needed and so very appreciated at this time! Please go to https://www.circlecreativecollective.org/mask-initiative, join the Facebook group for news and updates, or email us directly at for more details.
Your donation will go towards:
• Fabric, Filters and other Materials
• Mask Pick Up and Distribution
• Sanitizing of Masks to be safely distributed
A large percentage of people who are COVID-19 positive have no symptoms and the spread to and from our healthcare workers or anyone in the essential supply chain right now is risky. There is very simply a shortage of supplies. Volunteers working on community outreach, and all other essential workers must have immediate access to masks.
Homemade protective gear is not a substitute for Person Protective Equipment (PPE) but does offer some important protection. The official CDC policy is essentially to do whatever you can if you have nothing else. Cloth masks won’t completely stop airborne viruses but do drastically decrease the amount of transmission through the spraying of ‘droplets’ and thereby reducing virus particles on surfaces. They also minimize those carried into the mouth and nose through face touching. There are many studies showing the efficacy of these masks to partially filter the airborne virus as well.
Thank you for any help or contributions you can offer!
