I am raising money to help pay for a service dog for myself. After living over 10 years with multiple illnesses, I was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Occipital Neuralgia, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, cervical spine displacement, generalized pain with an unidentified autoimmune disorder which is just a long way of saying they haven't quite figured out EVERYTHING that I have. I even saw a Pain Management Specialist who couldn't assist me with a treatment plan. December 2020, I was also diagnosed with Raynaud's and Ischemia (whew!).
I have been potentially matched with an 18-month-old labradoodle name Jake in January 2020 from Heeling House in Sterling, VA. Heeling House is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children with special needs through the use of Animal-Assisted Interactions. They have agreed to work with me due to all my underlying conditions.
In June 2020, Jake will be spending a weekend with me to see how we interact before deciding if he is for me. If not, there is another puppers in line. I am hoping to have my service dog with me by the end of this year to early next year.
$2,575 have been raised so far from my personal GoFundMe page but opted out of that to create a Charity which I did not know existed.
Total raised: $2,575
Need: $11,425 ($6,000 by end of March before tasks training can start)
$12,000 raised goes directly to Heeling House. $2,000 raised goes to leashes, crate, harness, food, and pet supplies. You'll automatically receive an email receipt from GoFundMe Charity that meets the IRS requirements for a record of your donation. Be sure to save and/or print this email for your records.
