On Saturday 22nd September I will endeavor to swim 2 miles around the Serpentine in Hyde Park, London, to raise money for the incredible Kings County Tennis League ('KCTL'). Following a drunken night in Cologne in March my dear friend Scott Isaacs convinced me to give this a go and raising money for KCTL will be my mission. A 2 mile swim is apparently the swimming equivalent of a marathon and I have been training since May to try and get to a distance that gives me a shot of completing the race. My aim is to finish in under 2 hours.
KCTL is an amazing charity as many of you know, seeking to renovate unused tennis courts in low-income housing areas of Brooklyn, and then provide free coaching and mentoring to kids who do not usually have this chance in life. My brother is the executive director and has helped the founding team take KCTL to the next level. Hopefully this charity swim can help out with the winter programming that takes the kids inside and keeps them engaged in the colder months. It all helps!
Many sincere thanks in advance from KCTL.
