GOAL: Sefkat (Compassion) Mosque is asking for community donations to support its basic facility operation costs for 6 months starting in April 2020 (Ramadan 1441) during these difficult social and financial times. The best way to pledge is to set up a monthly occurring regular payment for next 6 months. One time donations are also encouraged for the intention of sadaqah (charity) or zakat (alms-giving).
Amount: The total monthly cost is $5,500 including $4,400 for the rent, $700 for utilities and $400 (in average) for maintenance and repair costs for each month. Recommended pledges are $500, $400, $300, $200 or $100 per month to be able to meet the required total amount.
About: Sefkat (Compassion) Mosque is located in Cary, NC, next to Cary DMV. As a dedicated prayer space, it has been serving Triangle community for last 7 years hosting Friday prayers, iftaar dinners and taraweeh prayers for Muslim community, and Turkish and Islamic classes for children at the weekends. It has been best known with its exemplary role in supporting interfaith activities and inter-religious dialogue in the Triangle region. These include dialogue dinners, MLK day events, social responsibility projects, cooking and art classes, book clubs, informational seminars and joint prayer sessions with the local Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and other communities in Triangle region of North Carolina.
Tax deduction: Sefkat (Compassion) Mosque is located under Divan Center, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. All of your donations will be tax-deductible in accordance with the Internal Revenue Service Code.
