The Lower Bucks County Athletic Association is a non profit organization that is currently home to the Lower Bucks Outlaws Baseball, Softball and Football leagues. Our fields and facilities are located in Croydon Pennsylvania. Our facility resides next to an elementary school, is in the heart of a residential neighborhood and is attached to a protected woodland area. In addition to our organized sport leagues our facility and the neighboring woodlands provide an area for local residents to play, get outside and explore nature.
We are a private complex that is not on Township owned land so 100% of all maintanence is on us. Every cent of our funds go directly back to the athletes and to maintain our facilities.
Since the beginning of Covid we have seen a dramatic upswing in vandalism at our complex. There have been several incidents of spray painting on our buildings and fields - many of the graffiti has been inappropriate and racist. We have had an equipment shed broken into and damaged on two separate occasions. There have been fires set in trash cans, a football goal post broken and other minor damage to the property.
Though we have contacted the police numerous times and have filed appropriate reports, without proper identification there is very little that can be done. Our goal is to get a security system that will not only allow us to remotely monitor the complex but will provide additional lighting to deter vandals and allow us to capture the images of them for police investigation. Any additional funds over the basic cost of a camera system would be used to upgrade locks, doors and outdoors lights.
