Most people who know me, know that I am extremely passionate about cancer research, and blood diseases in particular. However, I became acutely aware of maternal health issues with my own pregnancy, and this has become a very important cause for me. I was lucky enough to be in a word renowned medical system and received the medical assistance I needed at the time. Yet I learnt that even with resources and education, pregnancy and childbirth can be a huge burden on a new mother. This is why I am running the Falmouth Road Race with Every Mother Counts on August 18 2019.
Every Mother Counts is a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother. Hundreds of thousands of women die during pregnancy and childbirth each year. That's 800 women every day. The good news is that up to 98% of these deaths can be prevented.
Let’s make pregnancy and childbirth safer together one mother at the time! Every little bit helps. Thank you so much for your support.
