This spring break, me and 11 other dedicated college students from San Diego State University and CSU San Marcos will be embarking on a journey to the city of San Juan Comalpa, Guatemala. This is a city with a majority of the population living under the poverty line, a city with no system for waste management but nevertheless filled with arts, culture and hard working people.
For an entire week, we will be helping to build the city's schools and houses out of re-purposed materials, meeting the city's inhabitants and volunteering with the children at their schools.
Alongside this experience, we will be learning about sustainability. This trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a difference and for us to step out of their comfort zones to make a difference.
In order to make this trip as affordable as possible for us, we ask YOU to help us reach our fundraising goals. Thank you so much!
