I hope everyone is doing well during these times. It is with my pleasure to announce the collaboration efforts we as a National Board have been making with the SDA Foundation!
For the next three weeks, we are commencing our fundraising campaign in efforts to generate funds to assist in getting insurance for us as a National entity. More details will be available in the link below, but I am confident our work with Jesse Morales and the members of the Foundation will be the beginning of a partnership that will be the seeds to a fruitful partnership in future endeavors. Our first campaign effort will be used to generate funds to purchase insurance. With the assistance of Brothers such as Miguel Galvan, we were able to successfully contact an insurance company that will be willing to work with us to provide coverage to our chapters and their locations on the West Coast. If you are interested in reading up on the exact situation, the link to the Proposal will be provided below.
What we ask now from all of our Brothers who are able is to make a donation to our Foundation website (link below). Not only will this go toward benefitting our undergraduate chapter, but all brothers that contribute will be able to benefit from a tax write-off that the Foundation has from their 501(c)(3) status.
Furthermore, listed below are the additional benefits for Brothers that make their generous donations:
Donations that exceed $50.00: will be posted and recognized on the Foundation website.
Donations that exceed $100.00 or more: will receive in the mail a custom-made limited edition Sigma Delta Alpha crown lapel pin along with recognition on the Foundation website.
From Monday, April 26th, 2021 until the end of the day Sunday, May 16th, 2021 all donations that are made on the Foundation website (links below) will be used toward the deposit for the liability insurance we are purchasing through Holmes-Murphy. We are in hopes of reaching the minimal donation amount of 60% to cover the deposit, which equals a goal of $4000. This effort will alleviate the overall cost of the insurance for our undergraduate chapters. With obstacles in the way such as the COVID-19 Pandemic and universities limiting on-campus events, we have an opportunity to minimize the stress of this issue affecting our undergraduate chapters.
