The Kansas Oklahoma Region would like to invite you to join us in donating to the Blood Community Emergency Vehicle Campaign. During a global pandemic, the need for blood doesn’t stop. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs life-saving blood. The patient may be a mother giving birth, a child fighting cancer, an accident victim, or a patient fighting COVID-19.
Last year, the Red Cross serving Kansas collected 106,862 units of life-saving blood and supported over 100 Kansas hospitals. Behind every blood drive, there are skilled staff, specialized equipment, extensive testing, and transportation to labs and hospitals.
But before the patient receives the gift of life, we must get there. Blood community emergency vehicles drive our mission each day and drive thousands of miles each year. In Kansas, we have several vehicles that are over ten years old and have over 200,000 miles. We have secured funding for 7 of the 13 replacement vehicles and our Chapter Board is dedicated to funding one new van with your help.
Patient’s lives depend on our vehicles being safe and reliable. If you are able to give at this time, today is a great day to make that difference. When you make a gift to the Red Cross, you’re helping to provide compassionate care and lifesaving services to as many people as we can reach when they are truly in need of hope. I hope you join me in donating to ensure critical life-saving blood gets to patients when they need it most.
