SCOOP is dedicated to helping sick, injured and abused stray and feral cats. We assist nearly 100 cats, most with special needs, in our sanctuary. In addition, we assist the community by providing small grants for the medical care of sick and injured free-roaming cats. This is through our Sick and Injured Cat (SIC) program.
SCOOP maintains an emergecny fund, but this fund has been depleted due to five energencies since October--all requriing hopsitalization and specialists. Molly is currently hospitalized at Grady Hospital for a condition called triaditis--inflammation of her organs due to pancreatitis. Molly has suffered health issues since the death of her mother last year. She is responding to treatment. Junior is 7 years old and FIV+ and was admitted today for illness. Hallie underwent surgery yesterday to remove a cancerous growth from her nose.
Sadly, Sweetie and Xander did not make it. We continue to make payments towards Sweetie's $4,500.00 emergency bill. Sweetie's daughter, Jaax, is grieving and suffering health issues. She awaits an ultrasound and echocardiogram. We have four others (Dean, Malcolm, Callie and Peanut) awaiting surgey due to painful stomatitis, a condtion that causes ulcers in the mouth. Teeth removal is effective for most.
Our mission is fulfilled through fundraising, grants and donations from the community. No donation is too small. Please feel free to earmark your donation toward a specific SCOOP cat: Jaax, Molly, Junior, Dean, Malcolm, Peanut or Callie.
Thank you so much for your support!
