Main Street School needs your help! Please prayerfully consider making a donation to MSS. Your donation will help purchase Chromebooks and provide scholarships for students in need. We are a 501(c)3 charity and your donation is tax deductible.
Main Street School is a small, non-profit school located in the Appalachian Mountains of southwestern Virginia. The mission of Main Street School is to provide an excellent Christ-centered education that provides both spiritual vitality and academic excellence to all students. Our goal is to help our students learn, grow and to be the hands and feet of Jesus as they serve in our community. We strive to keep the cost of tuition low so a Christian education is affordable for as many families as possible. Our staff members make tremendous sacrifices to work and serve at MSS, with salaries well below what they could earn elsewhere.
COVID-19 has affected our school in many ways. The pandemic has affected many of our families financially, creating a greater need for scholarships. We had to purchase laptops for teachers, webcams and we upgraded our internet so we can serve students who become ill or are required to quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19. We received a generous donation last year of refurbished Chromebooks, but some are already in need of repair. Additionally we need 28 more Chromebooks to be able to provide one for each student's use.
In order to re-open following CDC recommendations and guidelines, we have purchased plexiglass desk shields for each student, purchased additional cleaning and sanitization supplies, and we have increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitization of our school. These expenses have added tremendous strain to an already tight budget. Main Street School, along with most private schools, does not receive state or federal funding.
Your donation will be a tremendous blessing to our students. We are grateful for donations of any amount to our wonderful school!
