As we move toward the holiday season and the new year, the Sickle Cell Association of BC is welcoming donations to brighten the season for those affected by Sickle Cell disease. As a registered charity, tax deductible receipts are provided.
The Sickle Cell Association of BC is dedicated to providing families with the information they need to make educated and informed decisions to improve the quality of life for those suffering from Sickle Cell Disease and their families.
We provide current information (both medical and holistic / integrative), resources, support groups, and events for Sickle Cell patients, their families, friends, and health care professions in order to empower and enhance quality of life.
In addition to the above, our main fundraising initiatives for 2020, are to send children suffering from Sickle Cell to summer camp and adults with the disease to the annual Sickle Cell Association of Canada's Sickle Cell Conference Summer camps provide opportunities for children and youth to have fun in nature, gain confidence and connect with others who have faced similar challenges.
The camp has 24/7 on-site medical supervision, with staff and volunteers that are trained in emergency procedures. Sickle Cell Association of Canada's Sickle Cell Conference takes place every year in a different destination.
The conference not only gives adults struggling with sickle cell and opportunity to bond with others with the disease, but also access to the latest scientific and clinical information related to the disease. This is done through the offering of innovative symposia, training seminars, interactive panel discussions, and special events.
We appreciate whatever generosity you are able to give to this important cause.
