A special message from our Music Director
This is Cal Stewart Kellogg, Music Director of the Symphony of the Southwest, with a special reminder to our patrons. We are in the middle of a Season entitled “You Asked For It”. Audience members let us know what they wanted to hear, and the Symphonysaid Yes!
The final concert of the Season, which was to take place on April 11, 2020 in the Mesa Arts Center has been postponed due to concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic. We are looking at a possible date of May 23rd , but this has not yet been confirmed. The final concert will have a patriotic theme, being close to Memorial Day, featuring popular American works such as the Lincoln Portrait, Victory at Sea, the American Salute and Souza marches. This special concert will be performed onstage together with members of the Youth Symphony of the Southwest.
Ladies and Gentlemen, nothing can compare with the power and excitement of a live orchestra performance. If the final concert goes forward, you will not want to miss the opportunity to hear these great pieces, and support the Symphony of the Southwest by attending, bringing your family and friends, and donating to help defray some of our expenses.
Ticket sales only cover about 35% of concert costs. This is a burden most orchestras face today. Yes, even the internationally acclaimed orchestras deal with this every year! Thank you for taking time to consider helping our Mesa Arizona-based orchestra complete our concert season. We look forward to seeing you in May. And we are already planning our next concert Season in the Mesa Arts Center!
Say YES to the Symphony of the Southwest!
