A special message from our Music Director
This is Cal Stewart Kellogg, Music Director of the Symphony of the Southwest, with a special reminder to our patrons. We are in the middle of a Season entitled “You Asked For It”. Audience members let us know what they wanted to hear, and the Symphony said Yes!
On April 11, 2020, we are going to bring you a concert examining three aspects of Love: Beethoven’s Leonora Overture (conjugal love), the Romeo and Juliet Suite No. 1 by Prokofiev (teenage love), and the Symphony Fantastique by Berlioz (obsessive love). All very popular works that you asked for, and we will be happy to perform onstage together with the Youth Symphony of the Southwest.
Ladies and Gentlemen, nothing can compare with the power and excitement of a live orchestra performance. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear these great pieces, and support the Symphony of the Southwest by attending, bringing your family and friends, and donating to help defray some of our expenses.
Ticket sales only cover about 35% of concert costs. This is a burden most orchestras face today. Yes, even the internationally acclaimed orchestras deal with this every year! Thank you for taking time to consider helping our Mesa Arizona-based orchestra complete our concert season. We look forward to seeing you in April. And we are already planning our next concert Season in the Mesa Arts Center!
Say YES to the Symphony of the Southwest!
