The COVID-19 pandemic has devastated iSPACE- The STEM Learning Place (www.ispacestem.org), as it has many other non-profits and small businesses in our community. We NEED your support now more than ever to help keep the iSPACE mission going for our students and for our future! We are at risk of closing our doors, which would deprive tens of thousands of local students the educational experiences and opportunities that iSPACE provides them each year. While we support and strongly believe in ensuring the safety of our students, educators and staff, our revenue stream has been ravaged over the last few months, with lost revenue from over 170 school and scout programs, due to the closing of schools and stay-at-home orders from March through May. With the uncertainty of the summer months we stand to lose the funding from our camp programs, which serve over 650 students during June-August! We are indeed facing financial hardships due to the current environment; we also face an uncertain future.
We are encouraged by the tremendous response from the community about the value iSPACE delivers through our mission. Our goal is to work together to survive this crisis so that we remain a valuable contributor to our educational system and the STEM community. We are grateful for the support of our volunteers and generous donors, more than ever! We want to continue to work together with our supporters in developing the future STEM leaders in our schools, our families and our community!
The passionate iSPACE staff, while they may be furloughed, are working feverishly on a pro bono basis, to revive iSPACE and to ensure that our mission to ignite a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and to prepare all learners to thrive in tomorrow’s workforce, is realized. Our students deserve the education that will help prepare them for tomorrow’s workforce and for success in a global economy.
The students of today will change our future by:
· identifying the cures,
· developing the technology,
· building the infrastructure, and
· helping create the innovative solutions to the challenges we face today!
Our unique, authentic, and problem-based learning programs have demonstrated improved academic performance and created career awareness. iSPACE depends on generous donations from individuals and businesses to provide these innovative and hands-on programs to those who perhaps need them the most.
We are calling on you now for your help! iSPACE is asking for your support on #GivingTuesdayNow, the new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, it’s a day for everyone around the world to stand together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.
With your generosity and support we hope to reach our goal of raising $25,000 to keep our iSPACE Mission thriving.
Online donations can be made here . You can also show your support online by using the hashtags #iSPACE and #GivingTuesdayNow.
