A month shy of GLC's 30th Birthday celebration the world changed drastically due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the decision was made to close the center for the health and safety of our GLC family. It wasn't the grand celebration we had planned; the lights were off, the classrooms were silent, the playground was still and the candles slowly burned out as Greenway Learning Center celebrated virtually its 30th birthday (April 16, 2020). With the strong showing of financial help and support from our caring Greenway families we were able to re-open our doors on June 15th to a small group of children. While doing our best to return a bit of normalcy to the children, parents and staff; we continue to effectively and safely care for and educate GLC's children, while at the same time protecting our dedicated staff and struggling to cover operating expenses to keep Greenway's doors open for another 30 years. We are reaching out to EVERYONE: GLC alumni, former staff, friends, family, grandparents and any one who has gone to work with the peace of mind knowing their child is safe and happy in a loving child care program. All donations made to the "SAVE Greenway Learning Center" campaign will be used to keep our doors open for another 30 years. Your generous donations will allow us to continue to do what we do best-educating and loving young children in the Greenbelt area. It takes a village to care for and educate our most innocent and youngest learners and we are counting on your help and generous donations. Please take a moment to share you favorite Greenway memory and or update us on your child/ren and family. We thank you with all our hearts for your kind donation and wish you all continued good health.
