We are deviants; we are the Connor Army, and together we can make a difference in the world. We were inspired by a story which started with a simple choice to save a fish; if we mobilize and transform this video game action into a real world one - we can help to save so much more.
The Ocean Conservancy has been working with legislators, scientists, international groups, and volunteers for over 40 years to, “create science-based solutions for a healthy ocean.” By donating to Save the Fish, you will be supporting the Ocean Conservancy in this effort.
We all depend on healthy oceans for our survival - it’s where we get half of the air we breathe, and it's an important food and water source. But our oceans - and the life they contain - are in serious jeopardy. Whales become entangled in abandoned fishing lines and nets (which comprises half of the estimated 79 thousand tonnes of ocean plastic in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch alone), birds and turtles swallow or get caught in floating plastic, and sea life habitats are under threat by ocean acidification.
The Ocean Conservancy combats these threats by:
- Holding Government to account regarding essential legislation and ensuring that ocean health remains funded and a priority. (Recently, for example, they have been campaigning against changes to the Endangered Species Act proposed by the current US Administration).
- Working with coastal communities to build clean, sustainable economies, reduce over fishing, and rebuild vulnerable sea life populations.
- With over 600,000 volunteers they have been leading the world’s largest effort to remove plastic from beaches, as well as working with international groups to help stop plastics from reaching the ocean at all.
- Working closely with scientists who study the impacts of environmental stressors (like climate change and acidification), the Ocean Conservancy is helping to restore the Gulf of Mexico after the BP oil disaster there, and protect the fragile ecosystems of the Arctic.

Let’s honour the man who brought the Connor Army together and gave us a community. Let’s #savethefish! (Happy Birthday, Bryan!)
