Do you know anything about child soldering? Are you aware that there are child soldiers in our world? Child soldiering takes place in many countries around the world. Most people do not know that child soldering is a problem let alone that it exists to such a large extent in our world. By knowing and understanding why, how, and where child soldering is happening, this tragedy can be stopped.
The United Nations Office for Children and Armed Conflict’s last annual report presented information about grave violations committed against children in 23 conflict situations, where at least 49 armed groups are said to have been responsible for these violations. These violations include recruitment and use of children, sexual violence against children, killing and maiming of children, attacks on schools and/or hospitals and attacks.
Around the world, UNICEF has helped more than 8,700 children released from armed groups reintegrate into civilian life and find their families since 2017. UNICEF and partners provide released children with medical care, counseling, education, vocational training and a safe place to live while they recover from the trauma they've experienced.
Please help to end the terrible problem of child soldiering by making a contribution to UNICEF. Help me reach my goal so that together we can make a difference.
