A beloved community dog park needs your help!
Built in 2017 by a small, core team of animal lovers who cared about Kingston, The Boneyard (located in Kingston, Massachusetts) serves hundreds of dogs on a weekly basis from all over South Shore. Fully funded initially by grants and individual donors, the future of the park is now uncertain if additional new funding is not found today to keep it operational. The park receives no funds or operational support from the Town of Kingston.
The Boneyard is managed by a volunteer group (and non-profit); the Friends of the Park. Due to the immediate popularity of the park, there was a significant increase in demand for park supplies. Specifically, we had to increase visits from our waste management vendor and also increase the number of dog waste bags on hand for users. While the additional costs were unexpected- we were thrilled that The Boneyard was so popular with the community!
We are now looking to raise $20K to help cover the future costs of The Boneyard. Park volunteers are also seeking business sponsorships of cash, services in kind and grant funding, but we know that reaching out to those that use and love this park (our community) first is going to set the stage for fundraising success! As the Friends of the Park is a nonprofit, all gifts for the park are fully tax deductible.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 now to keep the park operational for 2020 and beyond. Please contribute TODAY and help keep the park open and affordable to all, every dollar helps! Our furry friends and family members are depending on YOU. Thank you!
Where is my money going?
Our Park is run 100% by volunteers! This means every dollar is going directly to support the needs of the park.
We are most grateful to the dozens of volunteers who have been removing pre-bagged dog waste daily from the park at this time, and making sure operations are running smoothly. THANK YOU!
However, as a non-profit charged with ensuring that the park will be open for years to come, we need to raise additional funds to offset annual operating costs, and give us the flexibility to hire waste removal vendors as needed when volunteers are not available or have other commitments come up.
Boneyard Annual Budget Breakdown:
