Blair was found abandoned on the side of a Delaware road and taken to a nearby shelter. The shelter spayed this poor emaciated sick girl and we are thankful she made it through the surgery so that PPR could save her. Unfortunately, Blair's left eye is proving to be a problem. What we thought was an ulcer is actually minerals in her eyes (the right will be treated with drops to prevent further issues). There is fluid build up behind the cornea and the minerals cause "blisters" to form and burst. This is a painful and ongoing issue without surgery. The ophthalmologist recommened a cornea graft which would stabalize the very thin cornea and allow the eye to heal. Right now there is a 50% chance the eye will rupture without surgical intervention and treating with medicine is highly unlikely to fix the issue or prevent further issues with the affected left eye.
Surgery is scheduled for October 3rd and we need your help to make it happen. The estimate is between $2,000 and $2,200 and we need your donations to give this lady a pain free life. Pawsitively Pom Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit so all contributions are tax deductible.
