Please join me in supporting NYC SALT, the city’s only visual arts education program that teaches kids from underserved immigrant communities technical AND life skills through hands-on lessons and 1:1 mentoring with industry professionals.
The money raised in our Fall “One for One” matching gift campaign running ONLY through Thanksgiving will fund the scaling of the mentorship program, allowing NYC SALT to transform the lives of even more kids. That means more underserved kids learning creative expression, being the first in their family to go to college, and pursuing the visual arts as a career.
Since joining NYC SALT ten (yes, 10!!) years ago, I have always been so grateful and happy to be part of the program and its growth. The lifelong learning that these kids come away with, retain, and then apply to their creative pursuits, their academics, and their lives in general is truly something special!
My goal is simple: Help us provide more students the opportunity to be part of NYC SALT. Your 100% fully tax-deductible support provides technical skills training, college preparation assistance, and professional development while also firmly instilling the confidence, responsibility, and interpersonal skills needed to excel in any field...for MORE STUDENTS!
* Every mentor is a volunteer from an ad agency, studio, or powerful company like The New York Times, National Geographic, and Time, Inc. Many are professional photographers in their own right.
* Every single student enrolled at NYC SALT goes on to college, often as the first in their family to go.
* Every NYC Salt college graduate from 2015, 2016, and 2017 are employed in their field of study.
* And almost all students return as young professionals to mentor the next generation: a virtuous cycle of receiving and giving.
