It's a funny old year to be turning 40 and one where I've realized by being locked down, how little stuff we really need. I've found myself in tears over the suffering of the amazing people of New York. People who live paycheck to paycheck who've lost loved ones and jobs and somehow have to work out how to feed and educate their children amongst all of it. I always knew I was fortunate but at 40 I'm realizing what that actually means - to be ok when the world stops moving.
As my lovely family and friends began asking what they could get me for my birthday there really is only one thing that matters to me right now, and that is to help me take care of my New Yorkers.
New York Cares is an incredible organization. And it's been out there feeding people, helping people educate their kids at home and taking care of New York's most vulnerable people. So instead of spending $40 on a gift, throw $40 for 40 to New York.
Thanks a mil!
