I moved from Sydney, Australia to NYC nearly four years ago to join Jet. Through my wife's volunteering work at Sanctuary for Families, I learned about the amazing work this non-profit is doing for victims of gender violence.
Two years ago, I told my friends that I was going to ride for freedom from gender violence and support Sanctuary for Families and https://sanctuaryride.org was born*. A small group of friends joined me on this quest. I'm grateful to have helped raise awareness of gender violence that goes unnoticed behind closed doors by riding through New York State. We stopped to talk to NPR radio station and NBC TV in Buffalo during the ride.
I'm doing this ride for the second time (rolling on Aug 28th, 2019) and would like your help in achieving the fund raising goal. All of the ride trip expenses are self-funded so every dollar of your donation goes into the non-profit for the fight against gender violence.
*Sanctuary ride is a 5 day, 500 miles ride from Manhattan to Niagara Falls that raises fund to help survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and related forms of gender violence. The ride will start from the beautiful Central Park and end in the picturesque Niagara Falls State Park. Help us achieve our fundraising goals!
