Earlier this year, I began working for San Francisco Baykeeper, a non-profit committed to holding accountable the companies and cities that pollute San Francisco Bay and the government agencies that are supposed to protect this amazing ecosystem. At Baykeeper, I focus on protecting the Bay's fisheries and tributary rivers, initiatives to mitigate climate change, and helping our communities adapt to rising sea levels. My colleagues, including attorneys and scientists, tackle major polluters, including municipal wastewater treatment facilities, chemical refineries, and fossil fuel companies.
For 30 years, Baykeeper has protected San Francisco Bay by maintaining a constant presence on the waters, investigating thousands of pollution reports, showing up for public meetings to represent for the Bay's interests, and, when necessary, filing lawsuits and winning. This is challenging work and current circumstances make the work even more difficult and more important.
In order to continue our fight to protect the Bay we all love and the waters we all need, Baykeeper needs support from folks like you. That's why I'm asking you to consider making a (tax deductible) donation to Baykeeper TODAY. Thanks!
