The San Fernando Valley Refugee Children Center (SFVRCC) has been a place of welcome and healing to the hundreds of unaccompanied children who have made the perilous jorney from Centeral America to seek refuge in Los Angeles County. The SFVRCC is dedicated to helping children and families transition to life in the United States by providing them with the necessary services to survive and have a chance at a better future, while also connecting them with a community of individuals who went through similar experiences, yet found ways to create a happy family, home, career, and life.
Since our founding, the SFVRCC has been supported by our dedicated volunteers, community partners, and generous individuals who, like you, help us ensure that every refugee child and family is provided with the help they need.
And now, more than ever, we need your support. Our fundraising efforts have been halted by the pandemic and our signature Champions for Children event will unfortunately not be taking place. Sadly, this pandemic is devastating our communities and the needs of our children and families only increase with time.
Therefore, in lieu of our gala, and with the help of long-time SFVRCC supporters, we are happy to announce our Matching Grant Challenge. The SFVRCC has been offered a 1:1 matching gift to monies raised by December 1, 2020, up to $25,000! But, we need your help to rise to the challenge!
Your contributions go twice as far during our Matching Grant Campaign. Every dollar will be matched by our generous donor. And more importantly, a gift of any amount helps meet the needs of our children and families during this very challenging time.
