Hey friends and family, as many of you know I am a veterinary student in my second year at Colorado State University! GO RAMS! My anticipated graduation date is May 2021and I cannot wait! To try and become the best doctor I can be and do my best to give back to the community, I am volunteering a week of my time to help out small animals on the San Carlos Indian Reservation.. The week will be spent vaccinating pets, treating for parasites (fleas/ticks/tapeworms), treating tick-borne diseases, some small wound repairs, parvo treatment, as well as other common issues in these places. RAVS is a nonprofit organization and they’ve asked that I try to help raise money for the cause, so more animals are able to be helped. If you could donate $5 or even $10 that would help the cause greatly!
Examples of how your contribution could help these kittens/puppies/dogs/cats: $10 - covers vaccination for one dog or cat, $25 - treats one pet’s illness due to a tick-borne disease, $35 - one pet’s anesthesia/materials for spay/neuter, $75 - treats one puppy with parvovirus, $100 - spay/neuter, vaccination, wellness exam for one dog/cat.
Fund for Animals, Inc. wrore:
In 2015, RAVS launched an intensive community outreach project with the San Carlos Apache Tribe. Infectious disease, tick-borne illness and other issues have become serious animal and human health concerns for San Carlos, exacerbated by systemic poverty and a lack of access to essential veterinary care. We are working closely with tribal health and animal control departments to bring more regular animal health care services to the community, primarily by performing door-to door veterinary work with small outreach teams, as well as occasional higher-volume wellness events. In May 2019, RAVS staff and volunteers will travel to San Carlos to provide wellness care to this community so desperate in need. While there, our volunteers and staff will be educating the family on animal care and public health, helping to make the community a better place for the animals and the people of San Carlos. www.sancarlosapache.com
