This year I have been given the opportunity to run the New York Marathon for the charity: NYPD With Arms Wide Open. This is an organization that supports NYPD families that have children with special needs.
I’m excited to be associated with this organization because it combines my love of running and my passion for helping children facing these challenges. Through my work with students and families I know the importance of having a supportive community and am thrilled to support an organization that is dedicated to a cause so near and dear to my heart. I also have a number of family members who have served our country through police and military making a partnership with the NYPD serendipitous.
I am a wife and mother of three wonderful boys ages 13, 12 and 6. We live in Park Ridge New Jersey. I have worked with children with special needs in a variety of settings over the past twenty years. I am currently a middle school special education teacher in Fair Lawn, NJ.
I started long-distance running less than ten years ago, have completed the Philadelphia Marathon, and a number of half marathons around the tri-state area. I am so grateful for the opportunity to support this worthy cause and humbly ask for your support. If you can make one, every donation made my fundraising page will go to help an NYPD family in need.
