I believe that it takes two things to run a marathon well: heart and legs. When Sam and I run together, I take care of the legs, and he takes care of the heart. It is truly an incredible feeling to run with Sam and I enjoy every second, but having a proper running chair would make it even more enjoyable.
Sam has what’s called a Peroxisome Biogenesis Disorder (PBD), which causes him to be deaf, blind, and have limited mobility. Over the years, Sam has become more and more dependent on his wheelchair and those around him but has kept his bubbly personality along the way. With the help of a new running wheelchair, Sam and I will be able to run even more marathons, just with more comfort than before.
This chair wouldn’t be just for Sam. With being connected to other kids like him, we hope to share this special experience with others.”
Thank you, Nick
