Hi everyone and thank you for coming to my page! I am so honored to be running the 2019 Boston Marathon on behalf of Samaritans.
My goal is to run my first marathon in memory of my older brother, Alex. As some of you may know, Alex committed suicide two years ago in October of 2017.
Alex has been a brillant role model to me for my entire life. Aside from his ingenuity, Alex was so kind. He was an extraordinary friend to everyone in his life. He drove me to school everyday for many years when I was in middle and high school. I have the happiest memories of listening to him sing (very off tune) along to the radio station 93.3 when we would drive between our parents' houses on Colorado Blvd. He would edit my essays, take me for very late night Mcdonald's runs, and lecture me endlessly on the values of free software.
Along with all the wonderful things that filled Alex's life, he long struggled with mental illiness. I am honored to be running this marathon for Alex.
I feel privileged to raise awareness and dollars for the critical work Samaritans does. I have an ambitious goal to raise $12,000 for this incredible organization. All funds raised will benefit Samaritans' suicide prevention services. I would appreciate anything you can give to help me reach this goal. Thank you in advance for your support! Thank you all!!
