We've met our minimum goal! NOW help secure a safer, more reliable, and better suited vehicle for RWF!
Rescue Women Foundation rescues, restores, and raises up young mothers from dire circumstances of life in the slums and islands of Kampala, Uganda. The girls receive pre and postnatal care as well as maternal education, and come to know that they are more than their situation and what those involved in their exploitation would have them believe. Some as young as 12 were married off to their rapists by their parents, others sexually assaulted to or from the well. Most were found put out on the street once known to be pregnant by force or even coerced with the promise of sanitary pads, school fees or money for a parent.
RWF has been recognized in Kampala as an upstanding NGO with strong administration and a high standard of care. In that regard, Rescue Women Foundation continues to try to meet and surpass goals improving upon how well they love and serve the precious ones in their care (for example the new mission house recently acquired to better accomodate the pregnant and parenting moms).
Ugandan officials have begun another review of registered NGOs. RWF meets and exceeds all requirements with the exception of a FOUNDATION VEHICLE. Currently, the girls walk or take public transportation - mostly by boda boda - to and from appointments or after giving birth.
Sadly, these girls are seen as cursed, as being bad luck, or merely stigmatised by society. Others riding public transportation with them have been witnessed getting out of the moving transport in order to avoid them. Despite the high quality of care, the amazing progress of these young women, and given where they've come from the Ugandan government is still requiring RWF have its own vehicle for safety and in case of emergencies.
Friends of humanity, there would be a detrimental impact on women and their families in the region were RWF to close even for a short time. RWF also serves and empowers women through education and micro-economic opportunities, conducts charitable outreach, food distribution, menstruation ministry, etc.
You can make a difference! Give for safe miles for moms with a safer, more reliable, and better suited vehicle for the foundation than what be purchased by the minimum goal! RWF must often transport serveral girls/women at a time with cargo. Help the work of compassion continue, allowing these young women to take courage and find hope for the future.
Rescue Women Foundation is a mission partner of IAAM (International Athletes' Abolition Mission), a US-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and an important part of IAAM's East Africa Project. Funds raised are for the sole purpose of purchasing a vehicle for RWF for improved care and safety of those they serve.
