Water is life! Every dollar donated is a gift of life in fact.
High in the Andes above Cusco live the Cloud People, the Wisdom Keepers, the Q'eros. For over five hundred years these joy-full people guarded the knowledge, practices, and wisdom of the ancestors until a time when they would help us all remember.
The Q'ero communities face tremendous health concerns due to contaminated water. Dehydration and water-borne parasites are endemic contributors to health issues. The child mortality rate among the Q'eros people is 40 – 50 %. The Q'ero Nation, wisdom keepers of the Andes, designated by Peru's Ministry of Culture as a "national living cultural patrimony" is in serious jeopardy.
Our Condor filter is a remedy. Each Condor filter removes 99.9999% of all bacteria and pathogens, the leading cause of water-borne diseases. Each Condor filter produces nineteen liters of purified water a minute. Each filter lasts ten years producing limitless amounts of purified water. Imagine the differences in health when purified water is available for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing hands, cleaning dishes, and more. Because the Condor filter is easily transportable, durable, and light-weight, it is perfect for the highland communities, school, and health center of the Q'eros. We need funding to support this effort. Each Condor filter is just under $500. With funds from this campaign, we will bring Condor water filters to schools, health centers, and communities in the Q'ero nation.
Q'ero healers and spiritual leaders are in high demand. More tourists are seeking their wisdom and want to learn about their culture. Solving the contaminated water conditions is urgent. With the influx of more people, it will only worsen.
