The Friends of Athens CASA is teaming up with local equestrians to host a philanthropic trail riding event that will support the mission of the Athens CASA/GAL Program. Athens CASA is a court based non-profit organization that advocates for children involved in juvenile court because of abuse and neglect. 100% of the proceeds from this event will support the training of Court Appointed Special Advocates to represent our local foster children. Participants are asked to make a donation during sign up and encouraged to fundraise individually for the cause. On April 25, 2020, local riders Dick Beitzel (a longtime foster parent) and Johnny Stewart will lead a trail ride through beautiful Zaleski State Forest with a midday snack break at Moonville Tunnel. The ride will end back at the horse camp with chuck wagon style dinner, campfire music and raffle drawings.
Help Change a Child's Story today! Sign up to participate and start fundraising to support the cause. Donate or raise $50 to earn a tee shirt, $100 for a tee shirt and a hat. An additional prize will be awarded to the top fundraiser. Raffles featuring equine items, cabin getaways and more will be available.
