Hey! As you may have noticed, I’ve been growing my hair for the past year and a half. Many people have been asking me when I’m going to cut this hair. Allow me to explain. When I first began growing my hair, I was simply bored of my same haircut over and over again. As I approached the awkward lengths of growing my hair, I had a realization that I had a privilege that some kids don’t. I can grow my hair and change hairstyles whenever I want. When a child's hair is lost due to cancer treatments, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns, and such, the painful effects are far deeper than just cosmetic. For that reason, I’m choosing to donate my hair to an organization called Children With Hair Loss, a non profit organization that provides human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss. Children With Hair Loss appreciates hair donations, such as mine, however there is a HUGE cost to have hair replacements made. For this reason, I’ve started a campaign to raise money to help alleviate the costs to make hair replacements through Crowdrise by Gofundme. My goal is to raise $500, equating to several children receiving hair replacements. Please consider donating today.
