I'm participating in Be Brave for Life's Rise to the Challenge to help raise money for noncancerous brain tumor research. My goal is to run, walk and bike a total of 200 miles over the months of August and September. I will update the main image to keep you posted on my progress.
Please consider supporting my efforts with either a straight donation or a pledge per mile. I'm hoping to find at least ten people that will pledge $0.10 per mile or $20 - will you be one?
Treatments for noncancerous brain tumors have made little advances over the years, something I discovered when my little cousin was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor at age four. Research for better treatments and cures is so important, please help me join the fight to make a difference.
Be Brave for Life was started by Riley Callen in 2015, when she was 13-years-old. She started Be Brave for Life after her third brain surgery to remove a tumor in her brainstem. Be Brave for Life’s mission is to inform, support, and improve the lives of individuals affected by brain tumors and cerebrovascular disease. They believe that the only way to find better treatment options, and ultimately a cure, is by supporting innovative research, improving collaboration, and creating a community around bravery and hope. In 5 years, the foundation has raised three quarters of a million dollars and supported innovative research initiatives at top hospitals and universities around the world.
