The last few summers I have signed up for bike rides that have tested both my physical and mental abilities on the bicycle. Some (most) of my friends and family have started to think I’m a little crazy and that I’ve become obsessed. Honestly they’re not wrong, cycling has become my passion that drives me to become physically fit so I can ride longer distances, beat my fastest time up a climb, and catch the person out in front of me and then the person out in front of them and in front of them and so on. This year’s challenge is a single day 200 mile bike ride on June 28th called Break the Cycle.
Break the Cycle 200 (BTC200) uses epic one-day 200-mile athletic events to raise awareness and funds to break the cycle of human trafficking in the U.S. and SE Asia. This event will be physically, emotionally, and spiritually challenging to the extreme. All of your support dollars will help break the cycle of trafficking by rescuing victims, reducing the causative factors or trafficking, and restoring survivors of human trafficking.
I hope that you will join me and my fellow riders in supporting Break the Cycle by donating to the cause. For any donors interested I will share a live tracking link so you can follow our progress throughout the day as we ride from West Des Moines to Okoboji.
Thank you!
