With winter storms bringing extreme cold, heavy snow and ice to the central and eastern regions of the United States, millions of people have been left without power, heat and in some cases, water. The communities impacted, are desperately seeking warmth and other necessities without electricity in freezing or near-freezing temperatures.
The American Red Cross is working around the clock with partners to make sure people have a safe place to stay.
RED CROSS RESPONSE The Red Cross and community organizations have more than 150 shelters and warming centers open across 6 states (Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia). Wednesday night, more than 2,700 people stayed in emergency shelters — with the majority being in Texas. Learn more about the situation in Texas in this video.
Part of RWC’s DNA is our commitment to give back to the communities where we operate. Our goal is to raise $10,000 USD by Friday 26 February.
We can easily reach our goal if every RWC employee donates the minimum of $10 USD and each employee donation will be matched 100% by RWC.
Please help by donating today.
*We are always happy to receive outside donations
