Four years ago in the fall of 2014 I started running and I completed 3 marathons and a 50k in 5 weeks time. In 2015, I finished 9; 2016, 17; in 2017, 19 and last year, a total of 20. My goal for this year is to finish 30 if not more marathons, complete running a marathon in all 50 States, finish my 100th lifetime marathons in December and run all 6 World Marathon Majors. Of the 6, I have ran Chicago 6 times, New York twice, London and Berlin once. In a few weeks I will be running the Tokyo Marathon. For London I raised more than $2,300 for Children in Crisis. I also donated my own money to run Tokyo. This year, I felt compelled to go beyond what I can do and maybe more. I committed myself and decided to run Boston. To do so, I chose to run and to raise money to benefit the MASSACHUSETTES IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN FALLEN HEROES. A friend gave me the link to this charity and I thought that this was a perfect charity to support for a few personal reasons. Two wars are still going on. Thousands of our men and women have sacrificed themselves for us to keep us and our families safe, however, hundreds if not thousands have died. These fallen heroes of ours have families and most of them have young children who are now orphaned and this is what I am so touched the hardest. I was brought up by my Uncle who in my early years was a junior officer in the Philippine Army and was also sent to missions all over the Philippines. I remember my Aunt crying at times because she was worried. Luckily, he came back safe. My heart bleeds thinking of these children who forever will never see their Mothrr or their Father and will never feel what a complete family is like. There are hundreds if not thousands of single parents who have no means of surviving because the sole bread winner has passed. Lastly, there are veterans that are homeless, jobless or are physically and mentally incapacitated from effects of war. These are the reasons I am using myself, my ability and my resources to extend to you and appeal to you to trust me that I will cross the 123rd Boston Marathon Finish Line this April and with every dollar you donate will be a step closer to finishing, and a dollar to add to help these families and the injured veterans. Please feel free to share my campaign with your friends to spread the message of HONORING our fallen, SUPPORTING their families and EMPOWERING our veteran community. Thank you!
