Dear Family and Friends,
Incredible! I’m coaching the Run To Cure CF Team for the fifth season! Where did the time go?
I’m training participants of Team CF to run the Pittsburgh Full (26.2 miles) or Half (13.1 miles) Marathon on May 5, 2019. While we’re training throughout the winter and spring, we are also raising money to help cure Cystic Fibrosis.
In addition to helping Teammates succeed in their physical goal to complete an endurance event, I support the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by also fundraising. I like that this Foundation is highly rated for their fundraising efficiency, resulting in more of your contribution going directly to the cause – research to help add years and breaths to those who have the disease.
Of the over 25 official charities associated with the Run For a Reason program of the Pittsburgh Marathon, Team CF has been the top fundraiser for the past three years, despite having fewer teammates than the other charity teams. Since no Federal funding is available for this disease, we know that it is personal connections that will help to raise the funds needed to cure CF. I personally raised $14,390 last year. I am proud to show my support by again fundraising for this cause. I know that many of you have supported me over and over again in my initiatives to run for charities. I am so grateful to all of you for your ongoing support and generous contributions. And if you’re new to my fundraising, I would be honored to have you listed among my supporters.
If you’d like to support me in this effort, you can send a check payable to Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation (mailed to Audrey Burgoon, 576 Somerville Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15243). Or make a secure donation online at: https://www.crowdrise.com/runtocurecf2019/fundraiser/audreyburgoon
Thank you so much for your consideration! It really means so much to me to have your support!
Audrey (Head Coach, Team CF)
On March 20, 2018, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette published an article about me. Although I hated the attention, I did enjoy the opportunity to raise awareness about running for a charity. Here’s the link to read the article and watch the video. http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/pittsburgh-marathon/2018/03/20/Audrey-Burgoon-Pittsburgh-Marathon-Leukemia-Lymphoma-Society/stories/201803200002
