I'll be running in the Lost Lake Breath of Life Run this August in Seward, Alaska, and I need your help!
The race began in 1992 as a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and has grown from 55 runners that first year to 750 annual participants...the maximum allowed on the trail by the Forest Service. Over the past 26 years the race has raised over $2 million for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and your donation will help boost that number even higher and help them continue their important research.
Cystic fibrosis is a progessive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. I have little doubt that my fellow runners and I will have difficulty breathing at times during the 16 mile course that climbs over 2,000 feet in elevation, but the trail is lined with pictures of people living with CF to put our temporary discomfort in perspective. Our lungs will bounce back within minutes of crossing the finish line, but tens of thousands of people living with CF aren't as fortunate and must cope with their symptoms every day.
I've worked at CrowdRise for two years, and I'm incredibly excited to have the opportunity to use our platform to support such a great cause. Please donate what you can (every little bit counts!), and help me spread the word by sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family.
Thank you for your support!
