As many of you know, I've ran over 100 marathons and participated in over 350 American Lung Association events and raised thousands for much needed programs/services in the process.
I'm at it again!
In November I will be running, walking, crawling in the Grand Canyon for a total of about 30 miles with around 10,000 of elevation gain!
Once again, I'm dedicating my challenge to three very special people that have made an impact in my life on so many levels:
Keith Derry, my stepdad (Granddad Keith to my kids) who passed away on June 16, 2010 at the age of 61 after a short but brave battle with lung cancer.
Franz Harris who was a father to four, grandfather to ten, all around wonderful person and a revered member of our community. Franz lost his battle with lung cancer on November 6, 2007.
Jeff Wilson, a dear friend of mine, Jeff witnessed his father tragically gasping for his last breath. Jeff's dad lost a long and painful battle with lung cancer.
Lung disease affects over 36 million Americans and Lung Cancer is still the leading cancer killer in both men and women and claims hundreds of thousands of lives each year. Money raised from this event will fund vital programs, services, and research efforts of the American Lung Association.
I would greatly appreciate your support and sincerely thank you in advance for helping in the fight against lung cancer, asthma, and other lung diseases.
