Why I'm Running 39 Miles And Donating $1 Per Mile On My Birthday
I'm turning 39 this September 26th and decided I wanted to run my age. Instead of just doing this for purely selfish reasons, this is an opportunity to do my part to support something I actually care about which is supporting the wellness of America's youth.
Prevalence of Childhood Obesity in the United States
For children and adolescents aged 2-19 years: The prevalence of obesity ( based on BMI) was 18.5% and affected about 13.7 million children and adolescents.
My goal is to raise at least $300 which will be donated to the COVID-19 Fresh Food Fund through the Partnership For A Healthier America. This money will provide fresh fruits and vegetables for communities and families in need.
This campaign is also my public accountability partner. It's time for me to stop talking and do some good.
My run will start around 6AM Saturday the 26th at the Philadelphia Art Muesum and end in West Chester, PA if I make it alive!
