My co-worker has a daughter named Everly who is 4 years old. At the age of 2 she was diagnosed with Rett's syndrome. Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls and leads to severe impairments, affecting nearly every aspect of the child's life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily.
Even though symptoms can be severe, there is plenty of reason for hope. In the last few years there has been a surge in research and scientist are now optimistic on finding a cure.
I am running the Chicago Marathon to raise funds to continue Rett research and one day find a cure for Everly. Please consider a donation as every dollar counts and Molex will be matching up to $10,000.
