Dear family and friends,
I will be running the Boston Marathon next year on April 15, 2019 as a member of the Running for Rare Diseases Marathon Team in support of the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD). NORD is dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by rare disease and the organizations that serve them through programs of education, advocacy, research and financial assistance services.
I started running 10 years ago for physical fitness because I wanted to be a good example to my patients, friends and family. It developed into a hobby and gave me the opportunity to visit other places and bond with my friends and family while keeping myself fit and healthy.
This time I am running a marathon not only for myself but for others too. The funds raised from the Running for Rare Diseases Team will support NORD’s Undiagnosed Diseases Program; helping individuals to receive a diagnosis from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Donations in support of this campaign will be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. The individuals and families helped by NORD often have nowhere else to turn for assistance. Your support of this campaign is very important to them.
Dear friends & family, I am inviting you all to join me in my advocacy. Your generous support will greatly help transform the lives of others. Please help me achieve my goal.
