I will be running my first half-marathon in December! And what better way to do this than to use the opportunity to raise funds and donate to those to whom it could make a difference. With your help, I aim to raise US$500 for Educate Girls, a non-profit organisation that works with Governments and village communities to enroll and retain more girls in school and improve learning outcomes for marginalised children in rural India. In India, gender disparity remains a significant barrier to education. The result: 3 million girls across the country are out of school, and the female literacy rate is only 61%. Educate Girls enrolls one out-of-school girl with US$77. They also provide learning tools to schools that focus on building micro-competencies in English, Hindi and Math with US$93. So any donation can have an impact, as little as $10 can go a long way! I really believe in the power of educating girls because they can then improve the well-being of their families and their communities with the knowledge and skills that they acquire. You can find more information about the organisation on their website: https://www.educategirls.ngo/Home.aspx I will be posting more information in the next few weeks and also keep you posted as I get ready for the half-marathon! Thank you in advance for your support!
