This coming Sunday April 7th, I am running a marathon, 26.2 miles in total, in memory of Alex to benefit the Disable Athlete Sports Association. DASA recruits cognitively age-appropriate individuals 5 years of age and older living with permanent physical, visual, and hearing disabilities who have difficulty participating in sports with their non-disabled peers. Isn’t it wonderful!
My son Alex was diagnosed with a rare form of skeletal dysplasia, and went to heaven soon after birth on August 29, 2017. Alex had physical disabilities that would have prevented him from participating in regular sports. For this reason, I am running…I am running for Alex.
My goal is to raise $1,000 by this Saturday, April 6th, the day before my running. I ask for your support in meeting my goal. The money raised will be used to provide costly equipment like soccer chairs, racing chairs and more.
Please sponsor 1 mile for $39
How about 1/2 of a mile for $20?
Or 1/4 of a mile for $10?
A sponsor will get to choose any mile from 1-25. I can run the chosen distance in memory of a loved one and I will say a decade of the rosary for that person as well. Mile 26 has Alex’s name written all over. So this one is taken!
UPDATE: As of now April 13th. Miles 1-25 have a sponsor. I am now asking to please consider being a sponsor for #ALEXMILE26.
Thank yo so much for your generosity and grace and for opening your hearts to this cause.
