Hello Friends and Animal Lovers! I am running the 10 mile Broad Street Run for the 9th time this Sunday, May 5th in honor of all of the abandoned, abused, neglected and stray dogs and cats that desperately need our help!
Please help us give them a chance at the life that they deserve.
Rescue pets are among the most loving, loyal and grateful beings on earth. Our 501c3 non-profit rescue The Rescue Express www.therescueexpress.org spends many thousands of dollars annually and works tirelessly to save dogs from high-kill shelters.
The Rescue Express never walks away from a dog we have committed to saving no matter how expensive the vet bills will be or how long it may take to rehabilitate a precious soul who has survived a horrible past life. Every single donation can help me reach my goal of raising $1500.00 for our rescue. That's $150 for every mile I am slogging out there!
I am specifically hoping to raise money for Chopper, Luke, Gynger and Belladonna. The vetsbills just for those 4 dogs totaled more than $6,800.00!!! Those pups all needed surgery and extensive vetting to survive and lead healthy lives. We only operate on our adoption fees and donations. The animals rely on us to be a voice for the voiceless.
I have been training hard for the last two months and have run over 140 miles in March and April alone in preparation for the Broad Street. Please don't let my training have been in vain. I will post updates throughout the race on donations and how much my feet hurt!!
Rescue is very expensive as we have to pay for shelter pull fees, extensive vetting, boarding, transportation and in some cases for training or behaviorists for pups with issues.
Last but not least, I am running this in memory of Buddy, Suzie, Vinnie, Pepper, Bingley, Smarty Pants Crumb and Jasper. I am so blessed to have had those most precious four- legged souls on my life's journey. Missing them daily, deeply. Thank you for your support!
