Mia is kicking off her teenage years by kicking some asphalt for 13.1 miles to benefit Wildlife in Crisis.
After many weeks of going back and forth on which animal charity she would run for, our paths lead us to Wildlife in Crisis. We learned of this wonderful organization when we found an orphaned bird in our gutter. They were so helpful in instructing us of what to do so the bird may be reunited with the mother. And when it sadly wasn't, they took in the bird where it will remain in an incubator, and be cared for, until it's ready to be released.
Wildlife in Crisis is a volunteer based nonprofit that treats and cares for debilitated wildlife so that the animals can be returned to their natural environment and can live there independent of human care. It's entirely volunteer based and they rely heavily on donations. When we visited the center to drop off the newly hatched, orphaned bird (we named Loki), we were blown away by the facility and volunteers.
